Financial Policy Update
We have updated our financial policies regarding billing for additional services rendered during routine well visits. If you have any questions about this update, or about any of our financial policies, please call our offices.
Additional Services and Claims: During routine well visits, we take the time to address all aspects of your child's health. If additional medical concerns are discussed or managed during these appointments, we may bill your insurance for these extra services alongside the standard wellness exam.
Please be aware that this may result in co-pays, co-insurance, or charges applied toward any unmet deductibles, depending on your insurance plan. We encourage you to review your insurance benefits to understand your coverage fully.
Our commitment is to provide comprehensive care that supports your child's growth and development. We appreciate your understanding and are always here to answer any questions you may have about our services or billing practices.
RSV SHOTS AVAILABLE NOW
RSV is the single leading cause of infant hospitalizations in the US. We strongly recommend that all babies from birth to 8 months, as well as some high-risk children ages 8 to 19 months, receive the RSV immunization ahead of the fall and winter months, when RSV typically surges.
The RSV shot (Beyfortus, also known as Nirsevimab) are available now at our offices. Call today for an appointment!
For more information on the RSV immunization, please visit:

Call our offices if you have any questions!
EAR PIERCING
Medical Center Pediatrics is pleased to offer ear piercing at our Bingham Farms office! Please call for an appointment.
The price is $100, not covered through insurance as ear piercing is an elective procedure.
MCP is excited to offer CPR classes for parents. If you are a parent who would like to learn this skill we would love to help!
If you are interested in joining us, please call Lori at the office for more information!
Healthy Social Media Habits
There has been a lot of discussion about the dangers social media presents to our children and teens. However, research has shown that it can be either harmful or beneficial depending on how it is used.
The American Academy of Pediatrics has excellent resources for helping families navigate their relationships with social media to find a healthy balance. Below are several informational videos that may be helpful to your family.
Financial Policy Update
We have updated our financial policies regarding no-show appointments and fees not paid at the time of service.
The fee for no-show visits has been increased to $50. In addition, we are now charging a $5 statement fee if your bill or copay is not paid on the day of service.
Missed appointments negatively impact our ability to care for your child and others, and delayed payments incur additional costs for our practice. We appreciate and thank you for your understanding.
If you have any questions, please contact our office manager.
MEASLES ALERT
The CDC has issued an alert about a growing number of measles cases in the US. There have been several confirmed cases over the past few months reported in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and the Washington, D.C. area. Most of these cases were among children and adolescents who had not been vaccinated against measles.
We urge all of our families to make sure that everyone is up to date with their Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccinations. Measles can be dangerous, especially for babies and young children, and is highly contagious. The MMR vaccine is safe and highly effective. Please contact our office to schedule your appointment if your child is not up to date with their vaccines.
OFFICIAL CONDUCT POLICY
Here at Medical Center Pediatrics, we wish to foster an environment of compassion, understanding, and respect.
We recognize that daily life presents unique challenges for everyone. However, we kindly request that everyone treat our physicians and staff with the respect that we all deserve. Aggressive or abusive behavior towards our physicians and staff will not be tolerated, and may be grounds for dismissal from the practice.
We appreciate and thank you for your understanding.
FLU VACCINES AVAILABLE
We are currently scheduling in-office appointments for the flu vaccine (including FluMist) at both of our locations. Please call the office to schedule your appointment!
WHAT'S GOING AROUND?
We are currently seeing a spike in gastrointestinal illnesses, strep throat, bronchiolitis (RSV), influenza, and we are continuing to see cases of COVID-19. Below are two helpful videos for identifying signs and symptoms of these illnesses, as well as steps for prevention. We encourage all of our patients to get their Flu and Covid vaccines as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact your provider.
WHAT TO DO FOR AFTER-HOURS CARE
Although the best place for your children to receive medical care is your pediatrician’s office, we know that your kids don’t always wait for office hours to get sick or injured. Urgent care facilities are advertised as one option to quickly address health issues that don’t require a trip to the emergency room. However, we and our families have encountered some issues that you should be aware of when seeking after-hours care.
Urgent care facilities lack access to your child’s medical history, and often do not have staff who are trained in pediatric care. As a result, they may miss problems, overprescribe antibiotics, or misdose medications.
If you are ever unsure of where to go or what to do when your child is sick or injured, please do not hesitate to call our office to either speak to a phone nurse or the after hours on-call doctor! We can help you determine the best possible option of care for your child, such as a pediatric emergency room, urgent care, a telemedicine visit, or waiting until the next day to be seen in our office.
If you are directed to the emergency room, we recommend the following facilities:
CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF MICHIGAN TROY, 350 W. BIG BEAVER RD., TROY, MI 48084. 248-524-7180
WILLIAM BEAUMONT HOSPITAL , 3601 W. 13 MILE RD., ROYAl oak, mi 48073. 248-898-5000
C.S. MOTT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, 1540 E. HOSPITAL DR., ANN ARBOR, MI 48109. 734-936-4000
You are not bothering us by calling. We are your patient-centered medical home, and we are here to provide the best possible care for your family.
We want to remind you that we offer:
- Walk-in sick visits Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM at the Bingham Farms office
- Telemedicine appointments
- Quick updates or changes to a physical/sports form if you have been seen within the last 12 months - you do not need to go to urgent care!
If you need a last minute physical, please call, as we are often able to accommodate either same-day appointments or appointments within a few days.
MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL SICK PATIENTS (2 YEARS AND OLDER) AND THEIR CAREGIVERS.
We will continue to protect our patients and families who are vulnerable. We appreciate your help in providing a safe environment for our patients, their families and our staff. For more information, please refer to the current Michigan/CDC guidance linked below:

This change may make you subject to greater costs such as copays, coinsurance, and deductibles. MCP always seeks payment from your insurance company first.
